LED (Light-Emitting-Diode) treatment – sometimes referred to as Phototherapy – works by sending light to penetrate deeply into layers of skin to stimulate cell production, heal trauma, and speed up the over-all regeneration process. Depending on the kind of LED light used, treatment results can include a decrease of inflammation, redness, uneven skin tone, and reduce fine lines as well as wrinkles. Other major benefits of this anti-aging treatment are that it is safe, non-invasive, pain-free, and comes with no actual recovery time!
The link between LED lights and skin healing has been supported by NASA which showed that light therapy is linked to faster healing of wounds. This is important because good skin rejuvenation is comprised by the wound healing process, particularly neocollagenesis, the generation of new collagen.
Red LED light has been linked to the production of two key proteins: collagen and elastin, which work together to create stronger, firmer skin. This light will improve skin elasticity, increase blood and nutrient circulation, increase lymphatic drainage, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Red LED light has also been linked to targeting overactive oil production and helping to unclog pores.
Aids in killing the bacteria that causes acne, minimizes irritation and inflammation of breakouts, suppresses sebaceous glands, and it reduces blackheads and pores.
Amber LED is great for sensitive skin and is effective in treating issues involving redness, flushing, irritation, dilated capillaries, and spider veins.
Green LED light helps improve pigmentation issues caused by sun damage as it reduces the production of melanocytes. Other benefits of green LED light treatment are that it helps to fade the appearance of freckles, age spots, sun spots, and hyperpigmentation.
Yellow LED light reduces inflammation, stimulates lymphocyte production, activates toxin elimination, helps to heal psoriasis and eczema, and reduces redness from rosacea.
LED treatments requirement to see results is a minimum of 6-8 treatments that are done one week apart, followed by maintenance treatment once per month.
LED treatments last about 15- 20 minutes and can be combined with any facial treatment. These treatments can also be a stand alone treatment.
How soon can I expect results?
The skin should look different after the first treatment, smoother and more hydrated. Depending on your individual health, results may vary.
Contraindications for LED Phototherapy
Pregnancy, Epilepsy, Photo-allergy, medications that cause light sensitivity (such as Tetracycline). Also if you are currently taking steroids or cortisone injections, you should not receive Light Therapy.
LED Phototherapy is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for safety and efficacy.
LED facials are painless, relaxing, and do not require down-time. There are no adverse reactions and they carry no risk of burning because it is cold light. This skin rejuvination technology uses safe wavelengths between 423nm-640nm (nanometers) to treat skin conditions. LED light does not produce the side effects or tissue damage associated with UV or infrared light. LED Phototherapy Light has been approved for applications such as skin rejuvination, acne, sun damage, and wound healing. LED-emitting devices are classified by the FDA as possessing "non-significant risk" due to the fact that they are completely safe and possess no possibility of harm or over-exposure.
